rear brake pad clicking

Hi all, i have the usual rear brake pad clicking noise when driving! They obviously want shimming! That will be a job for tommorow cause its getting really annoying! What can i use to shim the pads?

Are you sure its your pads? Ive got the same sound and found it was the two split pins that go through the pads to secure them in place that were causing the problems.They seem to wear where they enter the pads,causing the pads to move up and down causing the clicking noise.

Joolz told me to put silicon sealant on the back of the pads, put them in and then put your foot on the brake, it stops them moving around.

Just make sure its high temp stuff.

I had the same problem, I used thread lock on the back of the pads (which overcame the temperature issue) and kept a foot on the brake for a couple of mins - solved the problem fine and only needed a gentle tap with a small persuader when I subsequently changed them
