Spring Cleaning
Discussion
Washed, shampood, and waxed the Chim today - summer is coming.
I cleaned up all of the leather / vinyl, vacuumed the carpets, and sorted out the alloys / tyres, etc - and she's looking stunning again.
I even gave her roof a fresh coat of Renovo waterproofing, and Rainexed the windows - busy day.
One piece of advice I do need, however - everything is looking so sharp except the metal side window surrounds - they need a real good clean.
What's the best cleaning product to bring these up to as new.??

Solvo Autosol, when new they were anodized (chemical skin) you will need to get this off to get them to polish up.
Solvo will do just that, just keep at it.
I bought 'Brilliant Metal Polish' I think its called from the Polishing Company which seems to do the job, although I think there is a limit as to how well those door posts will polish up anyway. I think I also read that the Mothers range have a metal polish. The rest of their stuff is supposed to be top notch so I'd imagine the metal polish is pretty good also.

Good Friday, wheels off and full clean and wax inside and out.
Saturday, wash down, dry, polish with P21 and wax with carnauba.
Sunday morning, polish glass and rear screen.
Sunday afternoon, top down, and go for a blat.
Look at car.
Ooohs she's a bit mucky.
Sod it.
Go for a blast!
(Less hassle and far more rewarding

Just done mine this afternoon with Autoglym metal polish,it's none abrasive and brings them up a treat.
Did this this morning as per your recommendations on this forum, and it has come up much better than I thought.
I wish I had taken some before and after pics now - never mind.........
Here Here,
As a daily driver and new to the joys of it all mine get's washed about every 700 miles. Top tip for stone chips btw. I got a colour matched paint from a bodyshop and added about 20% extra thinners. Using a fine artists brush you can do a great job of colouring in stone chips and getting precision globs of paint as a filler.
Next purchase is going to be a clay stick. Heard they're pretty good for getting the glass effect back.
What's the best thing for protecting and cleaning the 500's wheels.

and when you have the metal shiny rub over with a small amount of olive oil and they will stay that way for quite some time.

I was up at 8am yesterday morning to wash the car, managed to do the boot & thought bugger it & went for a 120mile spin instead. Much better investment of time
