Depends on how raw (or should that be roar!) you like your meat!
Budget is a big consideration as this will determin which beastie you can aim for. 8 - 10K should get a very very nice late model 400se. a bit more for a SEAC or a 450, a bit less for a 390. 350s are cheap really.
The last wedges were very good and sorted. My 91 400se is better built than my old Chimeara!
As for what to look for, well, just about everything really! There were some nice wedges for sale in the PH classifieds so that might be a good place to start. Once you've picked the type you want I'm sure the PH wedge community will supply all the info you need!
A word of warning tho, they're addictive, not least for the noise! Once you've had one it's very hard to let go!

Oh, and yes, it's a great idea!

I accidentally sold my 350SE wedge a year ago and traded upfor a Chimaera a couple of months later. I really miss the sound of the wedge. And the glovebox!
I definately think they are the best value TVR's. And the 'meanest'
Go get one - you won't regret it!
