Can anyone tell me if a car originally registered in Germany in 1999 rather than in the UK and
then brought over here, would it be any different for any reason or is there any legal aspects
I'd need to look out for?

Thanks!

There are many differences between US and European spec Vettes but European cars should all be the same. All Euro cars were shipped from US via Belgium and then on to individual countries. Even UK cars display their odometer reading in kilometers until you start the engine but switch to miles once you're up and running. UK headlamps are for driving on the left and the handbook should be in local language.

I'm sure C5ragtop has (or had) a German car so should be able to fill you in.

Hi Mate,

My car was also a German import and I have had no problems at all, as they are a standard european spec. Just ensure the lights are correct for driving in the UK, everything else is fine.

Cheers

My car was the original German press car way back at the end of 1997 early 1998!!!Its a full Euro spec car & once the Germans had finished with it it was shipped to Vauxhall to be re-registered over here. I've never had any issues, as far as I'm concerned Euro spec works in Europe ....which (whether you like it or not) includes the UK.
