Per something I hear on 7 am R2 bulletin .. Sun newspaper did FOI on a Yellow Highwayman on M62. It seems that scam on M62 - temp 50 mph roadworks has nabbed 18 drivers per day since installation in 2003. With millions in fines collected - it ist topping tables as UK's highest earner.

Something must not be quite right here - if these are hailed as "successful in slowing down traffic" If this ist case then revenue should sure be nil

Also - on travel bulletins I do not seem to hear this place mentioned ...but I do hear of incidents involving overturned lorries on that windy stretch over the pennines ...

I would be more interested in knowing why this happen if I were a road safety wally ...

It was an easy to see camera at the start/end of a long stretch of roadworks however I don't see the point of a 50mph limit when the workmen were only on the roadside for approx 3months. If the fatality rate at 40mph is 90% I dont fancy their chances at 50mph. Still all back to normal now. Except new slip road 50mph why design it like that it's a slip road between 2 motorwys and should be 70mph!

Slightly off topic.....I have some news for Wildy!...

Wildcat.....I know you have an interest in the A574 at Glazebury as you visit there. A new Gatso has gone up there today (20.4.06). Located between the "George and Dragon PH" and the "Raven PH" opposite the "MS store"....Southbound

Not yet active of course but......

Take care!.....

so the camera catches 0.045% of the traffic based on 40k/day traffic flow. That is a very very effective camera!!!!!!!!

I'd rather get there arses in gear and get the work done at that bit. Or maybe they'll be keeping the camera's there for as long as possible to get a bit of extra cash
