Finally got rid of the 'draft' in my footwell

I closed down the heater flaps on the passenger side an left mine fully open (N reg Chim). Suddenly my boy is not too hot and I don't have freezing feet.
Thanks goodness I didn't make an idiot of myself by ripping all the insides apart to find the 'draft'.
It was a wonderful day for driving around testing the heater. Very cold but bright and sunny

My feet are always freezing in the Griff - haven't found out how to warm them up yet. I just don't care!

I only found out today that there are 2 air vents in the drivers footwell, one for hot air (which I knew about!), and one at the back on the right for the cold air fan.

Shut off the cold air vent, and hey presto, toatie pinkies!! Full of little suprises aren't they!!

Yep! Its true! Makes hell of a difference! Not sure if all the Chimaeras have it though, mines a late '95 model (4.0), and the vent is the type you get on planes where you twist the knob at the centre of the vent to open and close it. Its towards the back mounted on the side of the footwell (to the right of your accelerator pedel)

Hi chaps,
I thought that the second fan (cold air blower) and vent in the driver's footwell was only on the Griffiths, not Chimaeras?
Saw a photo of the vents in Steve's book and got excited, as would mean girlfriend could be toasty without roasting me, but then think it said only in the Grifiths. I'll have to have another look now.

Also, my girlfriend found today (whilst fiddling) that you can actually turn the flow from the side and centre vents off / on by rotating the 'other' thumbwheel - I had thought that they were both connected together and used for re-directing the airflow direction up/down....great...more to play with!

Doh! Did Leicester to Leeds last night & had blocks of ice at the end of my legs by the time (1 1/4hr) I got home. Never mind... shouldve got on PH b4 I set off. GOOD TIP!
