paint protection
Discussion
Depends on what paint protection they are using - some are better than others. I had Permagard put on my car about 6mths ago and its excellent. Permagard is not available at the dealers so you will need to contact them directly:

I wouldnt bother.
Just wax the car often, use a sealent wax if needed.
Surely its far less bother paying someone approx £200 to put paint protection on and then not needing to wax the car than to spend every other weekend waxing?
Well, they don't last 6 months not alone 6 years. I've had all my cars done, more fool me, and I still have to wax them anyway.
On my M3 after 3 weeks, the paint was rough as sandpaper and in urgent need of wax. So up to you if you want to trust your paint has protection on your pride and joy.

Don't open that bag of worms
Im not!!!
Were be here all year! Zymol is the only one that is a mission to get through when I correct the paintwork, no other product is like Zymol Vintage and Royale. And ALL other products I can just wash off.
3 layers of Zymol wax is very hard to wash off, even with a £6,000 hot water pressure washer at 50c!
The degreaser I use won't even shift the Royale very well and thats using it neat, spilt some diesel on the side of the Miracle van the other day, not even that touched the 3 layers of Royale!!!

Paul, was that you on Fifth Gear last night cleaning the MC12? If so, did I hear correctly that you can charge c.£5K to clean a car?
Yer, that was me! £4800 if I spent 64 hours on your car, which is pretty rare, most take about 10-25 hours, so £750+.
Crikey! I'm not surprised you don't do that many! Albeit the results I'm sure are stunning, I would imagine that for anybody paying that sort of money it would be a once in a lifetime treat for the car.
It must be nice running your gooey hands all over those wonderful cars.
All the best.
