so dropped the tam off to get its 1st mot today - on the way it decided that leting me know the current speed was not important - now wondering if it will outright fail because of that? - suppose i'l just have to wait and wonder what else might have decided not to work since dropping it off

From previous threads on this topic on PH in general, I do not believe the speedo is part of the MOT test.

so it failed but only on brake lights not working possilby due to the peddle box being removed to replace the brake master cylinder? hopefully that will be sorted in the morning and driver side main light not working (bulb dead) - i'm well happy

I wouldn't be happy knowing my car was driven as an MOT failure!

Considering that there could have been allot more failed bits - I think I got off lightly - also I have only just had the car back after 6 months waiting (4 days driving) - will update when i get it back again. - hopefully today

Pleased nothing major was wrong. Now how did the car get to the MOT centre without someone checking the lights worked?

What makes you so sure your car would pass an MOT.
