What was your first car

Do we have to go there - I had deliberately ommitted them from my profile - An allegro estate - 1300 super!!!! of I think around the same vintage as your chevette Boss........followed coincidentally by a Chevette (GL no less with sun roof!!!) in metalic blue - the all agro was white!!!
an old T plate (79/80?) Ford Escort Mk11 1.3L which was a lovely 2 colour paint job - top half was beige and bottom half was a chocolate brown colour - lovely eh I fitted 165 size tyres on the front and 185's on the back (165 was max that wouldnt rub on full turn) - managed 105mph on clock - probably really around 90. Sat so high off ground you could crawl from under the boot all the way to under the engine without jacking the car up!!
Hi,
My first car was a W reg (early 80's) metallic red 1.3 LS Golf, complete with tan interior
I purchased it from my Father and remember the first time I washed it properly it developed a nice hole in the front wing, I guess the mud was keeping the rusty wing together - LOL. Kept it for approx 13 months though.
Cheers

Actually, my 3rd car was a MkII (RS2000) - also two-tone but not how you would think....White Shell with Yellow Doors/Hood/Trunk - Looked like an Egg!!

Purple 1974 Mini Clubman 1000 - Later re-sprayed black. Dodgy Brake & Clutch master cylinders/water logged distributer and a lovely view of the road under the accelerator & brake pedals. Ah, the good old days of motoring...
Got it for my 17th birthday, If I'd kept my gob shut I would have had a 3 door 1.6 Mk1 Escort, but I had a go in a mates car and kept going on about it. As Capt Mainwaring from Dad's Army would say - "Stupid Boy!"

K reg Viva HC was my first, followed by a K reg F**d Capri 2.0 V4 (awful car, didn't handle, spun it into a forest on a bend ...) then one of my favourites, a Vauxhall Magnum 2300 badged up as a Viva 1300. Had twin dellorto carbs, headers, exhaust etc etc, had a lot of fun baiting the Ford RS2000 boys with that. Also had a droopsnoot sporthatch for a while, then company cars ... Cavalier, Sierra etc ... Then as a hobby I restored/ran an Opel Commodore B GS/E coupe between 1990 - 2000. Great car, 2.8 straight six injection, rwd, lsd etc etc. Always regretted selling it but the Monaro has taken over and is its spiritual successor.
1977, Austin 1100 (the one with the red stripe speedo that went from left to right across the dash instead of a pointer), bought from the 'Grave Diggers' pub opposite the cemetry in Southsea!
When the sub frame went (as they all inevitably did) I transplanted the engine into a mini!
Are we all the same age on here?!!

Hey Kev, I had the the Morris 1300 Automatic version of that car. J reg (first time round)if I remember. Steering wheel was HUUUGE! Sold it for £100 in 1983. Used to take me 9 hours to get from London to Durham!
How many times did you have to 'pump up' the suspension on the way? I used to get sea sick in mine!
