Nugget award goes to silverback....
Discussion
Completely stripped the interior of moh today, including stripping the drivers seat to a carcass as the frame had broken...sorted now though, all welded and straight.
However, I had stripped all interior door panelling, wood, you name it, it's out. Key in ignition as I had been fiddling with some bits and bobs under the bonnet before having a brainstorm and turning it into a fibreglass tub.
Slam, door shut, me feeling pleased with myself.
The keys were in the ignition, all door handles removed, no poppy things to fiddle with, both doors jammed shut.
Eventually broke into it fairly easily but I think I get the nugget of the day award, don't you?

I had a Pug 405 that occasionally used to lock the central locking just as you pulled the door handle to get into the car...I found this out for the first time while traveling round Ireland by myself for a bit of a holiday and got out for a "comfort break" in the pouring rain with the engine stilll running...i ended going to a local farm house and asking for a wire coathanger...
Mike, just remember about removing the bonnet release cable...
Regards
Iain

I did the same thing with a company car - left the key in the innition engine running ...(solution) : damm car thieves seem to have broken my window and ran off without taking anything
Wish I'd thought of that. I had a hire car in the states. Engine running and handbrake on, jumped out to pick up my mail and the Anti-carjacking circuit locked the doors. Yep I'd left it in D. Somehow "Nugget" just didn't sum it up properly as I did the same thing again about six months later. Now if you do it three times then you've got me beat!
