The driver is apparently the German equivalent of Clarkson (obviously with better car control!).
I don't think you will regret getting one in white. It looks brilliant on the 997 GT3. There are even people looking for white 996 GT3s, but only a couple were sold so they are like hens teeth.
That car sounds fantastic....Ferrari my backside. The German television car mags nearly always have fabulous drivers, and are pretty informative - though like their printed equivalent here, they often miss the point of the cars they test and are as entertaining as a party political broadcast. For all its faults (like Richard Hammond) Top Gear is probably the best notoring TV show out there by some margin. There is no equivalent to Jeremy Clarkson here.
I'm on the GT3 list, and desperately want a white one. But when it comes time to choose a spec, I'd guess my writing hand is going to get very shaky. I'd be happy enough with a white one for the German market, and would have no qualms about one for the UK market, but I'll be bringing my car to Ireland. 'nuff said.

The only thing with white is that it only looks good for 10 mins once you've cleaned it. Suits the car brilliantly though (imho).
Dont you find the same with black though?
I am seriously struggling to decide why i should get the turbo over the gt3. What iv come up with so far is that the gt3 seems to be the better drivers car if your tracking and looks better in a subtle way but iv never had a car with a turbo.
Iv done one track day and can honestly say id rather buy a caterham for such things and not worry so much if i write the thing off. I know thats why we have insurance but no one likes seeing there pride and joy bashed up, id take it on the odd track day but still......

It does look awesome in white. I think I am going to have to get a white one and sod residuals (if it turns out to be unpopular)
Agree. GT3 is probably the only car I would consider in white. Do you have a delivery date yet?
I can have one for March 1st next year but at the moment i am seriously considering getting one direct from Europe and saving a few pennies in the process.

Yep black is a nightmare too
Everytime I take the RS on track though, it takes a clay bar to get the rubber dings off! I don't know which car is right for you, but if you go on track it is probably better to work from the basis of not writing any car off
There is a lot more than the car to worry about if you do that, and I'd rather be in a crashing GT3 than a caterham, thats for sure! Of course there are running costs etc to factor in so it is a very personal choice. I like that I'm learning to drive a 911 properly though. The factory shuts down in August. New Porsche models are nearly always introduced in June/July, but production 'proper' and the new model year doesn't officially start until production resumes in September. It's the same with the Turbo - early cars are coming to the market in limited numbers in June/July, but these cars are usually registered to dealers as demonstrators or given to special customers. After that, it's all down to dealer allocation and where you rank on their list.
