Easter Weekend In France!!

Just got back from an excellent long weekend in France, where MrsCerby4.5 and I stayed in a lovely old Chateaux around 120km west of Paris near Evreux!
The Cerbera never missed a beat, and other than a close call at an underground car park in Paris (a rather steep ramp) it was a joy to have over there! It was running like a dream and really appreciated the opportunity to 'stretch its legs' on the way to and from our Hotel (about 2.5 hours each way).

I had forgotten how great the French roads are, even driving into the centre of Paris was a pleasure (apart from the cobbles).

I had also forgotten how the TVR's draw a real crowd wherever you go, we even had coach passengers and pedestrians taking pictures as we 'rumbled, popped and banged' past!!
Although the biggest draw was when we parked it near the Trocadero and got back to the car to find it surrounded by 'admirers'!
Le Shuttle was great, they are very TVR friendly, although Cerby got a little warm with the two hour delay getting onto our return train!!

We are already planning the next trip, although our friends want to get something a little quicker as they felt like the pace car when driving in front of us in their 1.6 A3!!
To those of you who have done Europe in a Tiv, I know what you love about it. To those of you that haven't..........do it, you'll love it!!!!

I went too, with the South Wales TVR club, 10 0f us in total at one point including 2 French TVR owners! twas a blast!!!
I'd like to put some of my pictures in here but dont know how, copy and paste doesnt seem to work? any help?

I use www.tinypic.com
They are really easy to use, and you can have them e-mail you with the links to the images so you can 'file' them for future use.
Then just add the link to whatever post you want, like this:
[pic] whatever the link url is [/pic]

Hi Scott,

I met you and Leyla at the Tunnel run in Feb. I had the Purple Chim and then bumped into you at the Mid Essex meet on a wet March i think. (Mate had the Red Wedge)

Anyway, The new Cerb looks great. What made you take the plunge for another? Gotta say i'm a big fan of the Cerb.

Hiya Nick!
Hows it going?
Having had a Cerbera before, I just always had a hankering to get another, and when the right car came up at Fernies it was too good to turn down!
We are both really pleased with Cerby, the power is just amazing and is taking some getting used to even after the Chim. We are also happy that a fellow PH'er has bought our Chim and seems to be really enjoying it!
Hopefully catch up with you at one of the next meets??

Do you know, Ive lost count of the number of times Ive done the Rouen, Evreux, Dreux, Chatres N154 blat, but I dont actually think Ive ever stopped around there. The countryside is cracking, some great scenery, is there much to do in the region? If you really want to stretch the legs on the old girl, get past Dreux and onto the long stretches of N154 down to Chatres and then Orleans.

We hadn't either!! The trip down and back to Le Shuttle was really easy and some lovely stretched of road!
Evreux is quite a pretty place with some great bars and restaurants. It is also a great (central) location to be based at for trips into Paris, Vesailles, as well as Rouen, Dreux, Orleans etc! It was nice to spend a day pottering around Paris, but to be able to get back out into the country afterwards. In the past we have always stayed in the City itself and then travelled 'out'!
The chateaux (in Grossoeuvre) that we stayed at was a little basic, but give the new owner a few more months and it will be a cracker!
We are looking at a few other areas to visit with the car, next on the list is Annecy, and then the Cote D'Azur as I have an old work colleague and friends who live just ouside Annecy and in Frejus, but any other suggestions would be welcome as would (TVR friendly) places to stay.

Charante. The most TVR friendly place on earth. Head down to Angouleme, Riberac, Perigeaux, Chalais, Bordeau and you will understand why. If you want somewhere to stay in the region I heartily recommend the Manoir de Longeveau. By heartily recommend, I mean *very* heartily recommend. Specialises in golf and tennis, has a fantastic sideline on great scenery and good craic at the bar and run by a bona fide car nut. Well nut in general actually! Anybody wants anymore info you can always mail me offline, Ric would kill to have hoon based there I suspect anyway.
