Help - How to remove the air filter box?

Right guys I need your help... I want to get the air-filter box out but how do I get it past the top of the radiators? Sorry to cross-post but also see my rant here www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=9&t=255420

Well, I finally received my replacement badge from Leven Technology last weekend and fitted it on Saturday along with the K&N panel filter I got from Tim at ACT. What a swine of a job that was!!! I ended up removing the number plate and feeding the new filter in from underneath. I then needed very delecate hands to get the little 8mm nuts on the back of the TVR badge and finally clamp down the air box inside the nose. Whole job took me about an hour which considering it's just a badge and a filter is daft and I got plenty of back ache as a result of contorting myself over the front the car - does look good though!

Rich, the air filter is a poxy job. You did well to do it in an hour, I struggled with mine for longer than that

Undo the jubilee clip holding the piping to the filter case. undo the bolt on the drivers side this takes a bit of arsing around with. Then take the case and manoever it hose end first over the top of the rad. its not simple but it isnt that bad.

Ricko - if I thought the box would come over the rad I'd have done that. I assure you there was no way it was going to fit through the gap!

Did mine at the weekend took no more than 15 -20 mins maybe we have different airbox/rad configuration?

I guess some fit better than others, mines a right b*****d the only way to not risk damaging the element is to unbolt the rad, but this still does my back in.
