my EFs 10-22 and sigma 70-200 f2.8 are now for sale. Bro-ionlaw has both these lenses so can borrow them if I want. I hate waiting for new toys

Poah...welcome to the 100-400 club You wont regret it, it's my favourite lens, and is on the camera as first choice irrespective of the wieght. If it was f2.8 as well I'd marry it

Martin.

A 100-400 f2.8 L IS - The holy grail....

Marry it? I'd make it positively scared with my sexual advances...

chaps ... am very intersted in swapping notes on the 100-400.
Hoping to buy one ready for the IOM TT and Le Mans the week after ... i understand there are both an f2.something and an f 4.6 available ?
Weight of camera and lens may also be an issue ... any comments ?
cheers, dave

There's no f2.8 100-400. There is however a 400 f2.8 IS Prime, if you want to sell a kidney go for it

It's not a heavy lens by any standard. I can hand-hold mine on the 20D with Grip and 2 batteries all day with no problems.

Hmmmmm tempted with the Sigma..... Almost bought one earlier this year but didn't in the end. I assume it's the EX DG version?
