WHERE CAN YOU GET CLEAR PERSPEX HOODS FOR MURCIS FROM? OR ROADSTER RIMS (APART FROM GETTING THEM DIRECT FROM LAMBORGHINI)? I KNOW OF A GUY WHO WOULD LIKE A MURCI BUT IS KEEN ON UPDATING IT IF IT WERE AN EARLY TYPE (NOT TO A STUPID EXTENT THOUGH). WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE THINK OF BLACKED OUT/SMOKED MURCI TAILIGHTS WITH ACETATE? IT WOULD HIDE THE HIDEOUS ORANGE FROM THE CLUSTERS ME THINKS.

IF YOU HAVE AN EARLY MURCI WITH NON-SEALED TAILIGHTS WHERE CONDENSATION FORMS ON THE INSIDE, CAN YOU GET THESE SORTED OUT BY LAMBORGHINI? IS THIS A COMMON FAULT THAT WILL BE CORRECTED EVEN IF THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY? I REMEMBER SOMEONE ON HERE SAYING THAT THE MURCIS HAVE RESORTED TO USING CHEAP BITS FROM PARTS-BINS LIKE THE MECHANISM IN THE SUGLASSES CASE WHICH KEEPS BREAKING, ARE THERE ANY OTHER THINGS THAT NEED LOOKING OUT FOR?

WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO OWNS A MURCI AND COULD COMPARE IT WITH A DIABLO, DOES THE CAR GET AS MUCH ATTENTION AS THE LATTER?

CHEERS...

I don't think Lamborghini resort to using any cheap bits for the Murcielago, all the interior if not pure Lambo, is Audi although much more so on the Gallardo. The condensation in the rear lights is an issue - I've had 3 replacement clusters in mine. They are'nt horrendously expensive for Lambo to replace, but there is a modification to the seals, perhaps ruttboy (Lambo Wycombe) could confirm this?
As for attention, well how much do you want?!! I can't imagine someone looking at a Murcielago then looking away cos its not a Diablo. The attention can be very extreme. Just last night I was out in Leeds and was followed by 4 separate cars. At night this can be worrying especially if they follow you home. I always shake em off before that anyway. Perspex engine covers can be fabricated or speak to Manu at Scuderia systems (01784 434395). He's imported a couple. Not cheap though. I keep meaning to get some estimates for a specialist company to make a few of these. Would any other Murcie owners be interested??

Simon, I might be interested ...BUT...it means I've got something else to do on the car......keep the bl@@dy engine clean!

I would definitley be interested in some of the new LP640 rear clusters though...NICE! (How big a job to remove/refit clusters?)

Thanks for the replies guys. That's a good point dealmaker, I wonder if it will be possible to replace old clusters with those new red gems...

This might be a bit late but I've just bought a Mucie and LAmborghini have said they will do a mod on the rear light clusters which is supposed to help. I also have a Diable SV and the question about which gets looked at the most is they are about the same.

I've just had 2 plastics companies constructing a template for the Murcie clear engine cover. Had to change it since the LP640 looks like it only has 3 slats instead of a lot more on the current Murcie. Going to be made out of heat resistant perspex like the F40.

Awesome. Hopefull will cost less than getting Scuderia to import them. Tariq (username lam80) would def be interested in one, if he were to get his Murci that is.

Simon,

Will this fit to the existing cover - and will there need to be any painting???

I sort of hope it doesnt work!! ...because then I wont have to buy one, and I wont have to clean that monster of an engine!!
