I want to take my Chimaera with me to the US

So, after saving for a year, finally aquiring the perfect car for me, I find that come the summer I'm likely to be Boston bound.
I've done some searching around.
The cost of shipping, although high is not too off putting but the bit that I am afraid of is the customs on the other side.

Does anyone know more about this, or has anyone done it?

It would be for private use but obviously car is without emissions and safetly standards suitabel for a US market.

In short - could be challenging given the tough nature of US emissions and the potential issues with insurance as well. Would be incredible though - would have loved to have ahd my Tuscan in San Francisco when I lived there (not so sure about the handbrake though!).

Next steps are obvious I think. Fill out relevant docs, probably drop US customs a line and contact Faisel.
