Yes the MX is on its way out to be replaced by a V8 beauty....can't wait!!
I don't mean cutting holes in the bonnet just that I thought someone had put some chrome (bentley style) mesh over the side vents in the creases in the bonnet?
Oh sod it, I'll just leave it as it is then!!

Ahhh... now all is clear - I had horrible visions of a Kevved-Up Chim
IIRC Parrot of Doom did put some mesh to stop crud falling through the louvres. Why not do a search of the Chim forum (search function button towards the top of the screen)?
Rob , yours looks like the bonnet I made originally for Geary Powells 5.0 turbo 4WD griff . I also have a mould for a bonnet with a single duct that vents a massive amount of air but it is for high speed stability rather than cooling . Not much air gets through the gap on a standard bonnet and if you sit in traffic and the fans cut in most of the heat haze comes out of the front wheel arches . While driving that means most of the air going in the front gets forced under the car making it lighter at speed so I ducted it over the top , David

David,that sounds right to me as the one of the previous owners did mention the other was on a 4WD !
There is also a thread simmilar to this running on the Griffith forum ref Bonnet temps,perhaps you could enlighten a few who are interested

Like this.....
Basically it's just stainless mesh available from any steel stockists, cut it to fit under the holes and bend it to the shape of the bonnet, then I used body filler to stick it to the underside of the bonnet.
