alarm blipper seems random
Discussion
Has anyone tried to improve on these in any way? Mine seems to have a mind of its own, it does always work but at varing distances, positions and with varying degrees of functionality, I dont personally mind doing the "blipper morris dance"
but its not really in keeping with the image.................

OK, we need to know is this a fault or are you looking at improving the original design?
Presumably its a fault as plippers are open to an amazing amount of abuse living in your pocket, getting dropped etc. Basically you are going to have to take it apart and see if there is anything obvious. The main place for a fault is where the battery connects to the circuit board you may find it will need re soldering also the button assy can become worn and intermittent, again re soldering may be required. If there isnt anything obvious then the best way to recondition a dodgy plipper is as follows,
* Check continuity of all wires/tracks with a multimeter (hairline cracks can appear in circuit boards)
* Resolder all connections on the circuit board (remove old solder first if poss)
* Replace the button (you will find a replacement at RS or CPC)
* Clean circuit board with isopropynol alcohol and a toothbrush (an old one)
* put a new battery in
This info is not just for cerb plippers but is universal advice for all types of small mobile pcb devices! Hope it helps

dont think its an actual fault, its just seems a bit naff. As part of my job i get to drive loads of cars, and by and large all the alarm fobs seem much more responsive/reliable than mine i was just trying to see if there any way to maybe increase the power/ reception whatever. sorry if i'm not being clear this really isnt my field
