Hi all!.....For whom it may concern. New Gatso installed today (20 4 06) on the A574 Leigh to Warrington, road at Glazebury (30 mph) southbound between the "George and Dragon" PH and the "Raven" PH...
It's not yet active of course but beware!.....it soon will be.
This road is always a target anyway all along it's length but have recently seen them "scamming" on the wide section after leaving the 70 mph East Lancs Rd and entering the 30 mph southbound down to Bents Garden Centre...

I noticed this yesterday on my way home.............At first I was gonna question it's location due to the "Accident blackspot" argument, until I realised that since that housing estate was built oposite the Raven, there've been a few accidents there. How many of them were due to "excessive speed" and how many are due to muppets pulling out of the estate, on a bling bend, without looking properly I wonder ?
What a stupid place to put an access road, just after that bend !
Anyway, rant over.
Incidentally, there was a mobile unit just after the mini roundabout a bit further on, aiming at traffic approaching passed the school. I stopped to ask him why he was targetting that particular stretch of road at that time. He said it was because there were always parked cars outside the school, where children could run out into the road. He didn't look to impressed when I then questioned why he was there, in half term, when there were no parked cars and no children to run out into the road. Revenue generating I suggested ........

MMMmmh! Didn't know about the accidents lil'pug. Yes you're right though....I've noticed something about that "northbound bend" since your comment.....
I think I'll "leave it a month"...before I comment further.......(walls have ears)
Let see if they notice..........
