964 C2 Rev Limits
Discussion
Whilst hooning in deepest Wiltshire and giving the car some "beans", I noticed that when I changed up from 2nd to 3rd the car was pulling 7400rpm and that the rev limiter had not cut in. However a fiends 964 C4 (Roook'ed) driven on the same day only achieved 6800 before the limit is hit!
So my questions
1) Are the rev limits on a C2 different to a C4 (unlikely)
2) Is it possible that the limiter is "shagged" - I have no idea how these work
3) What is considered a safe rev limit (i.e. should I be "short shifting" at 6500 for example) until I get it fixed.
As far as I know the car it standard, with the exception of a RUF chip, cup-pipe and cat bypass. Very loud (108.6db static at 4500 - measured Castle Combe), however I do not see how this could effect the limiter.
Your insight wisdom and knowledge is most welcome.

Just found your thread Andy and now know what exhaust system your running.
I find little advantage in changing above 6500rpm so wouldn't advise going much above this. Mine max's out at 6800 and mines a C2.
Always find the big rev counter sat in the middle pretty easy to read so dont hit the limiter much.
If your going to Castle Combe this weekend i'd like to here your car.
