Cadillac are launching the new "BLS" in Europe, based on a Saab chassis.

The existing XLR name I can imagine appealed to GM marketing people because,
"X" sounds a bit fast and sexy
XLR is almost XLR8 which sounds a bit "go-faster"
XL has the sound of "excellent"
XL sounds a bit like Lexus which has high quality image
XLR is reminiscent of the similar Mercedes SL (or even SLR)

But what about the BLS?

Sounds like bullshit to me.

I agree, a name is just a name, but the faceless suit who decided to but the hallowed Chevy and Bowtie badges on those grotty little daewooooooo things should be made to eat his own poo. And his dog's !!!!

Either a bacon and lettuce sandwich or a load of bls. It's supposed to be quite a good car though...as Saabs go. LOL.

Yes, I guess a BLT has a mixture of ingredients so the combination of a Saab chassis, Cadillac name and mid-atlantic styling sounds about right for BLS!
