the stictching on the rear window has come away and needs repairing,
have found a local place to do the job but they need it removing from the car,
have checked the bible (nothing)
and ran a search of the forum (not much )
It looks straight forward to remove, but has any body done it and how easy was it? did you have any problems?,

TIA

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news BUT this is one bitch of a job. TVR in their wisdom used spouting bolts as captive bolts. Some invariably decide to become non-captive bolts when you try to remove them - THEN the fun begins - usually requires someone in the boot and someone ln the rear of the car. Last time I did it we had to resort to using a dremmel to cut the heads of the bolts after cutting the leather trim to get onto the bolt heads.

On the other hand you might be lucky and the nuts will just come off with little effort - NOT - but one can dream!

There's a good reason why upholsterers insist on you removing the rear hood section.

If the bolts start spinning - ie they are not captive any more - you can stick some gaffer tape to the bodywork either side of the bolt to protect the paint, and squeeze some small mole grips under the rear hood lip (from just behind the screen) to get a purchase on the bolt shank and hold it still...just. On a Griff anyway.
