Maybe they bought the vehicle in good faith, believing these parts were fitted? If so, I would have thought that a 'credit' or adjustment could be sent your way. Downside is, they may not have looked to inspect the rockers and might not be trusting towards you which will no doubt offend you but don't let that blinker you. I'm sure if they are a 'good' biz and not to big they would want to come to a settlement somewhere.

Oh, I've got a set of new YT 1.8's in stock if you want them

I guess this is also part of the reason people dont like buying "modified" cars. You really dont know what you are getting.

Its costs a lot more to do everything yourself from standard, but most of the time its worth it, to know exactly what you have, and that the work is done properly.

I hope you get everything sorted...its not nice being ripped off, by anyone.

Thanks guys, Boosted I might be calling..

As for not knowing what was in there I was told quite clearly that I should speak to the person as they had done "all the work on it" and knew exactly what was in there. As mentioned if there was a mistake, then thats fine, they need to correct that mistake.

Ill do an update once I have spoken to the person involved again.

I think youve done the right thing going to the forum but without naming names. Hopefully it will spur someone into action as I presume the forum is full of current and potential custom. However, as youve chosen to put it writing and on a public forum, take care to only include absolute facts and events to avoid any risk of libel action.

308mate,
Agreed, there are other more serious concerns which I will not touch on for the reasons you mention. I have factual evidence for all other statements here.

I totally agree, as in such a small market place you ( the company in question ) need to good customer care..!!

Sorry to hear about your problems ringram, this sort of crap really burns me, especially from a sponsor! All legalities aside, pity we cant name and shame here, but power of word will get around, and they will get whats deserved.
Like motomk said, if there is anyway i can help with parts from oz, please let me know...i work in the auto parts trade down here.

"Ringram" it is good to keep the company at question's name off the forum at this stage, BUT I am keen to make sure the other sponsors are not having their names tarnished, as at the moment people who don't know which company is at fault will not look at ANY of the sponsors in a good light!!!

Not to sure how to address this without causing more problems but for those looking for services please understand the situation and not make a judgement on ALL the sponsors.

Agreed Paul. Its a small community. It will be resolved early next week hopefully and I can report back.
Its just because its a small community that I feel this needs to be raised. Nobody likes being deceived whether its intentional or not. Eitherway the person involved in the advertising and sale should take responsibility.
Im intending to wrap it up in the next few days.
I could say the vendors it doesnt involve but that wont leave much to the imagination.

Ringram,

If it is the case that the garage you bought the vehicle from another vendor who stated that the various modifications had been made & they passed it on in trust, then they should have an excellent case for retrieving their money from that vendor - and passing that on to you.

I'm not a legal expert, but it's almost always the case that when you sell or p/x a car to a garage you have to make a signed statement about the details of the car you're selling which form part of a contract. I've heard hearsay stories on the forecourt by dealers where they have had to invoke this where a px turns out to be clocked or such like.

Do you know how they got their hands on the vehicle before they sold to you?

Ok an update.

Just to clarify, there was a couple of people involved in the transaction so was shared responsibility for the sale.

I spoke to the person today and apparently the parts were removed by another party at some stage prior to sale.
The person has agreed to provide the missing parts that were paid for as part of my purchase.

Im now confident that the situation will be dealt with and respect the person involved for making good the issue. Everyone's good names can remain untarnished.

Ill report back when I have everything and will remove my parts of this thread to protect the innocent.
