It's a shame Smolenski's not made enough changes to turn the company around

I test drove the T350T prior to opting for the M12 - it was not great... seats tilted inwards at the top to clear the roll gage, pedals too far offset to the right (very awkward to drive), numerous leaks into the interior, glue splattered everywhere, the world's perception of the S6 reliability etc.

A real pity as the cars look so good but are marred by poor detail design and build quiality (and I know - I've had 3) and the same old problems they had 10 years ago, only now they don't have the RV8 to rely on.

It'll be a sad day if the company folds

I've got my fingers crossed for TVR too. If they would only buy in a decent engine I'd seriously consider one - I can put up with the other niggles. LS6 engine pls!

No need for a chequebook...would imagine he could get it for the legendary Rover £1. (Although I think Lee in an engineer, not a desk flyer)

Not good news up at Blackpool by the sound of the BBC tonight. Maybe Lee should buy the surplus interiors for the M15 (plus a pot of glue)!

IF TVR are folding and IF Lee and his backers are listening I think TVR's styling coupled to Nobles engineering would be an unbeatable combination. Imagine an M15 with a TVR interior!

"TVR's future in doubt
25 April 2006

• Sports car maker's Blackpool factory to close
• Firm may relocate - but not necessarily in UK
• Owners and workers left with little information

The future of UK sports car maker TVR is in disarray after news that the firm's Blackpool factory is to be closed by Russian owner Nikolai Smolensky.

Union leaders confirmed that 24-year-old Smolensky will close the plant, which has seen dwindling numbers of cars rolling off the line. Smolensky has made no comment on the closure, which affects hundreds of jobs, and company spokesmen were also unavailable for comment.

That leaves many questions unanswered for TVR owners and prospective customers.

While union officials said TVR executives had spoken of relocating production, there was no suggestion whether this might be within the UK or not.

If production does relocate and the company stays in business, existing owners will continue to enjoy the protection of their warranty. Otherwise, warranties could be rendered worthless. "
