Status Bar in IE 6
Discussion
Do any of you guys know whether there is a way of ensuring the Status bar is shown at all times on IE6? I keep turning it on but it keeps disappearing, especially when i open a link in a new window.
Thanks, Steve
I used to have this problem until (I think) I installed the IE6 service pack 1.
I have a funny feeling it was a 'documented feature' of the original build. It bugged me for ages too...
To get it goto Tools (in Internet Exporer) then click on Windows Update and Bobs not your cousin.
Sometimes it is "remembered" with the window status/position etc.
if all else fails, close all programs (My computer is a browser in disguise) launch the browser, and set it up to your liking. Then, click the cross (to close the browser) top right, holding down the shift key at the same time.
If none of the above work, it could be a problem with the authority of the user in the registry?
Hope this helps.

Doesn't seem too bad though! Well, once I had got use to the Fisher Price user interface and the anti-numpty features.....
The licensing agreement now allows users of XP Professional to roll back to Windows 2000 Professional.
This was to allow businesses to not have to roll out XP due to MS 'leaning' on OEM's not to install Windows 2000 anymore. Indeed 2000 pre SP2 is not even supported by MS anymore!
So there...
And I quite like XP Pro - but Home - eurgh! Upgrade Home as soon as you can!
