M15 - sorted BOV and IC?

Having added a BOV (Vegantune) and changed the IC (MattFP) on my (old) M400, I wonder - will the M15 have these issues/areas sorted out 'cos it makes a huge difference.....

The M15 has twin intercoolers and they merge into one at the throttle body (looks a bit of a bodge to me)

The intercoolers are placed very efficiently in a duct in front of the rear wheels each side

you could easily fit two bov valves on the pipes that feed the throttle body - or fit one to the inlet manifold

my guess is there will be an aftermarket kit to fit two valves - it would probably have a very loud sneeze when you change gear !!

Well as loyal as I am I'd have thought that at £75K they could throw in a couple of BOVs for free?

Perhaps even recirc rather than atmospheric BoVs too. Bit less chavy!

The point is all dry sump systems I've seen have a oil separator as part of the breather system.

Never seen one without it.

All existing M12/400 cars use an oil vapor seperator tank, don't see what difference the dry sump makes as the seperator has to breath/vent and to comply for emmisions regs cars vent back into the engine via intake airflow.

I agree with Joust. I don't think I've ever seen a dry sumped system venting back into the inlet either.

Laurence you misunderstsnd me l know very well how a dry sump system works, Dan made reference to a catch tank then Justin replyed with it is Dry sumped suggesting it won't need it, what l was meaning is that dry sump has no bearing on the breather system and all systems have to 'vent'
It is not the norm for a road car to be dry sumped only usually on a racing car and then the vent from the oil seperator is to a catch tank but a racing car doesn't have to comply with road car emmissions regs unlike the M15, so l assume that it will vent back into the air intake as existing.

I was just commenting that I've never seen a breather going into the inlet in things like Porsches, but then it's not exactly easy to see what goes on in a 911 engine! Also, some of the discussions on the Ultima forum seem to suggest they don't have swirl pots or similar on their dry sump systems.

However, as I don't really know what I'm talking about I'll gracefully shut up as I have no idea about breather systems!
