Exhaust manifold problem

Has anyone used the POR-15 product called fireseal 2000.
I've got a very slight pinhole leak from the o/s exhaust manifold (at the point where the two rear primaries join).
Seems like it might work, and it would save the hassle of getting the mig out. I know that the otherpor-15 stuff seems pretty good.

There is also a product called pyro-putty 2400, don't know if anyones tried this either

I've spent the day changing the transmission oil / stripping the sills, rustproofing / painting the sills,

I braised mine up five years ago. Still going strong! (At least that bit is) Used one of those el cheapo oxy-propane welders.

Thanks for that, I'll probably try the fire seal 2000 first, as frost do it for about £12...cheapest option first!

If it doesn't work I'll have to remove the manifold anyways, so it'll be easy enough to dlean off..

Ok, daft quetion coming... how did you locate the leak? I have leak somewhere which I thinks the manifold now. Its only really evident when accelerating and going past buildings/hedges, but its a bit annoying. I would like to plug it until the winter when I will probabaly get two new manifolds.

Located by ear, and then by feel, ran my hand around joint faces , close to manifold, but not touching it.

tried the obvious places, gaskets, welds, joints etc..

i had a leak that was hard to find it was a hair line crack in the manifold were it goes from 4 into 2 took me 3 months to find

I have found a crack, and it stands out from the other welds. Interestingly its where its goes 4 into 2! I have smoothed in some firegum to see if its differant now.

I braised mine in situ. IIRC oxy-propane kit about £35 from Halfords, ten minutes work and job done! BTW if you try some fire seal or the like first then this will be difficult to clean off well enough to be able to braise it (should you need to).
