I would just like to say before I start waffling on, a very big thank you to Paul McClean of GT Classics www.gtclassics.co.ukwithout whom this purchase would not have been as successful or as enjoyable as it has been and also a quick thank you to Vic (agent Orange) Cohen for his input as well - Thank you.
Well it has finally happened I've just purchased my first Porsche and what a cracker its a 964 RS Clubsport with all the right bits just to make it that little bit better if thats possible and it comes with another set of 18" Speedline split rims and the original suspension. OK its Rubystone Red (Pinkish) but its a Clubsport and its in top condition so I don't care and the fully rose jointed suspension/wishbones front and rear cover that so here's how it all happened
Paul Mc and I flew down to Salzburg Friday morning the seller was at the airport to pick us up and off we went to see the car. Paul gave it a good going over and he gave the deal the nod after a little bit of haggling.
Then there was the 10/12 hour drive back which although tiring was i thought totally brilliant (Paul Mc might have thought different) but I just couldn't stop grinning all the way, the car was loud and a beast to drive due to the sintered clutch, I lost count how many times I stalled still didn't do to bad considering never driven a Porsche let alone a left hooker and a left hooker with a sintered race clutch in a foreign country at night with only the SatNav to guide us
Paul did save me though by driving half way well done mate. All in all though 90 Euro speeding ticket aside which apparently was 1 kmph under the 148 Kmph 750 Euro fine
it was an experience to remember. I could go on but i've got to go and give her another polish so fella's hope to see you all out and about on the circuit somewhere soon
