help me i want to kill myself!!!! had a fuel leak under the back wheel on my 350i. i found it was a cut fuel pipe. anyway i managed to get the pipe out but it was connected to what looks like a large fuel filter. the pipe was still connected to this and had to prise it of this filter thingy. (the metal clasps had corroded up and wouldnt budge) anyway i got one end off but i broke the other end at the same time. does anyone know where to get one and whats it called?
i was in the process of ripping out the carpets at the time so you know how frustrated i am.
also i need a new pipe its only small and is connected between the 2 filters.
i am now sorry i bought the car, all this agro for 2 minutes pleasure on a sunday afternoon!

Could be the swirlpot. It looks like a filter but has connections to the two fuel tanks and then to the fuel pump. Sometimes people put an extra fuel filter between this and the pump to catch debri before it can block/damage the pump. Think replacement swirlpots can be had from tvrcarparts or RT.
I know it is a nuisance (had it myself) but is not to difficult to put it right: right diameter fuel hose can be had from standard car part shops. Take some old bit for diameter and ask for high pressure petrol hose from fuel pump onwards.

Its not that bad
I don't quite understand what you've broken: is it the filter itself of the metal securing band? The filter is a Mann part number WK830 (although I'm sure other makes will fit) which should be available at any decent motor factor. If it's the band, it should be easy to fabricate a replacement from a strip of ally. Can't remember the pipe size (maybe 8mm) but again, should be available from a decent factor. Make sure it's specifically for high pressure fuel injection systems though. The fuel runs from the swirl pot to the pump to the filter.
