Guys,
As title suggests, I am after sat nav for the car, also need to have updateable camera site facility, and although not essential, it would be nice to have bluetooth hands free through the system as well.
Have looked at tom tom go 3/5/700, nice and easy to use, but seem a bit bulky if you need to put them in your pocket, would prefer PDA, but not sure if any out there suit my requirements.
Really only want the one unit in the car as well.
Look forward to your suggestions.

Steve.

Try looking at the Alpine AVIC-X1BT, the new sat nav unit with built in Blue Tooth.

Think it's due out end of this month IIRC.

I have the TomTom 700 + Road Angel Plus and the dash is a little cluttered, hence the head unit option.

Isn't it a Pioneer AVIC - X1, evolution of current model?

Hi There,

Why not get tomtom on the phone ?? You will (obviously) need a headset, but it does cameras etc, etc.

I have a bluetooth gps receiver (small box needs fitting near a window) in each of my cars. Thus I only need one system.

You'll need a phone (see tomtom's website) and the software/gps receiver is about £180

I have a PDA with TomTom 5 - works great. Except when you drive along a bumpy road in the TVR, the magnet holding it to the screen attachment can't quite hold tight enough. I have to rest the 'bendy bit' of the mount on the dash to keep it still.

I'd be tempted to 'fix' the bendy kit in the space under the stereo (obvisouly not using the sucker). Then you could bend it out of site when it's not in use.

I don't find it a problem having it that low - I listen more than watch.
