Tyre Tread

My rear tyres have about 2mm of tread left on them and when I replace them I want to use them on the track. However, I know the track will be hard on them so does anyone know how much rubber is on the tyre, after the tread has been worn right down, before the cords start showing?

...not enough for me to have any confidence giving it 10/10 on a track.

Buy some track tyres if you're that worried, trying to hang onto a corner with no tread on road tyres is going to be no fun at all, sounds like an excellent way of putting your P&J into the tyre wall.
