just been thinking, hate the way the wiper do not bend over the side of the screen and even with the leven mods alittle better but not as good as i could imagine
so how about
replace the chims windscreen wiper system with one from a citron AX
AKA single blade, replace the blade with a smaller one and the holding arm with a slightly smaller one
so ok the top right (drivers side) woudl get a little less coverage but were so slow who cares ?

any one done this type of mod?
thanks

What are the window wipers off in the first place? As the tube on mine where the water comes out of has split and does a good job of soaking you when the roof in down?!

You should try Leven, they do a great wiper conversion www.leventechnology.co.uk/index.htm once tried you will wonder how you put up with the standard crap

I did away with the rubber hoses on the windscreen wiper arms and just drilled two small holes in the plenum grille and put in a couple of washer jets...works really well...but again soaks you if the roof is down as it hits the windscreen with some power!!!!!!

well yes i have the leven converstion
which is reality is a pair of arms (which have new jets on, they are fragile how ever where they have been attached to the arm (only glued on) and had to reglue them already)
but was thinking of replacing the motor, and gear with the citron one from the ax
(single wiper middle of the screen), and finding a arm to fit right, with correct wiper
any know if there would be enough space below the plate
also does the motor sit below inside the dash or inside the engine compartment
just wondering
apart from a slightly better wiper(ie it stays on the screen all the time)
and might look a like more modern with just a single wiper

I wouldn't have thought a single wiper would fit as the screen is too shallow (in height)in relation to the width. If a single wiper fitted, it's more than likely that it would only clear the centre 600mm of the screen?

Anyone know if you can fit the aero type wipers, á la VW group cars? I fitted a pair to my Audi S3 and have them on the Seat.

They seem to be quite bendy and stick to the windscreen very well.

Might be worth a look at...time to google

How about a triple setup like some Jag E types. They have the same wide low curvey screen and three blades would work a treat with a squirter on each.

Spotted some fancy washers on a Peugot 406 Estate the other day, the guy at the garage said they were std. These units are around 8 - 9inchs long about as thick as a std pencil with fine holes angled alond the side, so you get a fine jet covering a large area. Come with two flat looking clips so they lie alongside the arm, connect be rubber tube similiar to TVR. I'll take some photos then you can see what I'm trying to describe, or I'll have them off, the Peugot scrap anyway.

Think you'll find original washer spray tubes are identical to Citroen BXs- have owned a couple of these and reckon these are probably the source.
