Porsche club day this weekend
Discussion
Steve, is it a typical club day with stands selling goodies and cars out on the track or is it a race day?
I was there last weekend for a performance car action day where they wouldn't let a Ferrari out on the track due to noise levels. I watched the test and at 4500 revs it was only 90dba, but they still wouldn't let him on the track. Guess they do get lots louder when they start screaming.
How loud is a GT3?

I was there a couple of weeks ago for a Porsche Track Day and my 964 managed 108.6dba at 4500, thus making the Ferrari a bit of lightweight
Guess what happened next - and it did not involve me driving on the track.

The 29th is a track day. There is likely to be a coffee facility and maybe a few PCGB goodies for sale but thats about it! Combe is notoriously strict on noise (probably the worst in the country) so im not surprised. I have never driven at Combe before but I understand that GT3s with standard exhausts should just scrape by... We'll see.

There is racing on the bank holiday monday. Its the porsche club event. Not sure what else is going to be there, but the racing is normally a good watch. The club racing is pretty competive, and you can have a chat to all the drivers. I'll be racing in my 968. Hope to see some of you there.
