Bit annoyed with this one, but received photo evidence of 46 in a 40 today... question is, the photo has another car in it, going the other way. I seem to remember being told that this voided the photograph - I presume this is an old wives tale then?

Radar / laser based? Hand held / automatic?

These operate by sensors buried in the road.

There is nothing in the ACPO codes of practice (NOT guidelines btw) which suggest that two vehicles in the photo(s) disqualifies the reading from these devices.

Therefore you have to rely on the back-office protocol same CoP which requires the admin bod to be satisfied, if there is moe than one vehicle in the photo(s), that only one of them is in the measurement zone.

Maybe the sensor loops only cross the part of the carriageway you were on? Were your vehicle front wheels on the secondary check line?

The devil will be in the detail, but at least it is confirmation that scamps do seem to be pinging at SL+10%+2.

Assuming all the above checks out then you'll have to adopt various strategies found on pepipoo or take the hit. The two vehicles in the photo isn't a get out of jail free card in this case, which was your original question.

Where was it btw?

Ha well, figured as much

Was on the A508 out of Northampton, clear open road out of a village, I use it everyday was just half asleep not paying attention that morning I guess Just *(as usual) seems so ridiculous, 6miles over the speed limit on the open road and boom, fine + points. *shrugs*

Time to bend over then

If i understand what you are saying correctly, this means that truvelo's actually offer a good overtaking opportunity provided you perform your overtake as you go over the measurement zone?

Northants, full of the buggers at least the one in Roade is temporarily disabled.
Police had speed camera van set up on A508 past Roade at the weekend, saw it after the seventh car flashed us, slowed down after the first car flashed, not that we were speeding.
