seems like people are getting worried
about 5 cerbs on today loads of chimera's and a few griffs

just an observation since news about TVR came out

Odd - I really can't see how it will affect second hand prices one way or another. There are loads of cars where the manufacturer no longer in exists or doesn't support the model with parts etc. Don't see an issue with prices for Jensens, Aston DB's, old Elans etc.

Bit premature 'cause we have no idea what it will do to prices. They may well go up in time, who knows its all supposition.

Strange coincidence though, i bought a brand new MGTF and well, look what happened there.

I wouldn't worry too much, from what I have heard most independents can get hold of spares, even AJP8 stuff from the manufacturers of most of its components, even things like clutches would probably be easier to get from AP if they no longer where beholden to some kind distribution agreement they currently seem to have with TVR.

having said that, I really hope TVR do pull through in some form or other.

Went up to Dream Machines on the weekend.

Not the case, parts will NOT be an issue, trust me on that.

I agree with Gcerbera. i dont see how parts will become a problem after all nearly all the major components on a cerb are out sourced. eg diff, gearbox, clutch, exhaust, shocks, right down to rads, alternators, starters etc. all we collectively need to know is where to get them and we already have a thread on that. There are also a few indies sorting the engines now and I believe new pistons and major components for those can be made as can any cerbera "special items" I just feel sorry for the guys up there who have been laid off with no money and the mortgage payment probably due next week.

TVR is the problem when it comes to getting parts, once they are out of the loop it's actually a lot easier and quicker...

They are out of the loop for spares, there will be a new supplier.
