Hi,

Can someone help?

Considering buying a 94m 5.0 Chimaera. But there is a problem with the digital mileage reading which keeps going back to 0'000 when engine switched off.

I have been told by the vendor this is a common problem with this type of display and can be rechipped for around £150.00.
Apart from this car seems genuine, all history and reciepts and MOTs
Does anyone have experience or knowledge of this. Please help. MAC

These are the people you want to talk to, mine had the same problem a few years ago, took it out and sent it to them and the damage was about £50ish, and if you can include a recent MOT or service sheet they'll dial in the mileage to about what it should be reading so you don't get stuck with trying to explain dodgy mileage readouts when you move the car on

Dead easy, there is a watch battery in the speedo that needs replacing. The battery will cost about £3 and fitting if you go to a dealer will be about £50. It is a normal feature of these speedos.
