Can anyone tell me if the headlights for 205's are a sealed unit or not? The inside of my Gti ones are filthy and I was hopeing to take them apart to clean the galss. I know you can for the Clio lights but havent looked at mine in close enough detail. If not, how much would a new pair cost me?
If they're anything like the one on the crx (and I'm pretty sure they are) they are not sealed, but the glass is glued so firmly to the reflector that it will chip and or crack before letting go.
The best way would probably be to take them off the car, leave them to soak in bath and then use a bottle brush through the bulb hole.
Make sure they're thoughly dry before you reinstall them though or the heat from the bulbs will steam them up and the humidity may crack the bulbs.

No idea whether they are sealed or not but ou can get replacements for about £15 from Euro Car Parts.

Cheers for that egomeister - luckily I have a friend who holds an account so I will get him to get them, even more of a saving. Thats a good price though. I thought they would be about £30 a piece. Thanks again. Anyone know where to get a cheap mesh grille. I am thinking of getting one of the Ecosse ones as they have them in a sale for £60 but that seems a bit harsh. Any ideas anyone?
I don't think they are sealed as I'm fairly sure you can change the bulbs without having to change the entire light unit. If you open the bonnet and have a look I think you'll see that there's a thick rubber thingy (technical term) at the back of the light to stop moisture and crap from getting in (and to allow access) that gradually stops doing it's job hence your dirty light units.

Thought as much much but was never quite sure. But then again, at £15 a piece I may just put new ones on. I have new indicator cluster at the front, getting a new grille so I might as well go for the headlights too. Oh and new fogs. Anything I need? LOL!
IIRC you can change the bulbs, however the hole for the bulb is rather small, making it a bit of a bitch to clean out the light unit through it...

IIRC you dont have matching headlights on your car at the moment mate. One of them has a slightly different mount (thinking back to changing your sidelights) may as well go for a new pair.

IIRC TheLemming, you are quite right. I think that the headlights are different. They were also a mare to fit werent they.

I pretty much think thats all the queries on lighting for the 205. Maybe one other, sounds stupid but is there anyone who does UV interior lights. i.e. a relpacement for the interior light itself? I would like a UV one so that when the door opens, it changes the look of my interior colour.LOL!

Sorry to hassle you all with another sinmple question, but I recently bought a pipercross induction kit for my Pug. Its a K plate but I have bought the heat shielded one which mounts above the manifold (too much hot air). I ahve a friend with a 1.6, F plate and was wondering if it will fit on his or are there some size differences in the pipe fittings? Please help!
