Win XP home, doesn't save network drive passwords, unlike XP Pro.
Anyone know of any "patches" or reg hacks for XP home so it will remember usernames & passwords.

Upgrading to Pro isn't an option on this particular box in question.

Stick the net use command in a batch file in the startup group?

net use x: \server\share /user:domain\administrator password
net use y: \server\share2 /user:domain\administrator password
net use z: \server\share3 /user:domain\administrator password

That's a double backslash in front of the word server.... Ted's formatting gremlins strike again

Seems so bloody simple, keep forgetting about the simplicity of .bat files

They're still dead handy... I'm sure WSH is far neater, but the syntax is far more involved.

It doesn't? My XP Home box has a "reconnect at logon" tick box on the Map Drive popup, and it subsequently remembers the passwords....

(It is mounting a Samba share, not a "real" Windows one, but that shouldn't make any difference.)

It maybe this particular machine? It's pretty much as it was "out of box" install.
It remembers net drives at start-up but the option to remember passwords when inputting user & password isn't there. Hence having to do so every time.

Ahh, is this a "Share As .." type of drive, where you have to put in a username different to the one you logged into the machine as? I haven't tried that. My username on the Samba server is the same as on the XP box.

How many users on the Home XP box? Also, when you login, do you set a password for your login? If there is no initial login, I think XP Home skips remembering other passwords as well...
