Serious Question - Do you believe in God?

I'm genuinely trying to assess which direction society (albeit a non-represetative sample!) is going and if the stories of a Godless, atheist society are true or not.

I am a logical person. I do not believe in any religion, no one can show me evidence one way or another that justifys me becoming religious.
One thing thats clear is we were created by something that we have no clue about.
I believe in the existenece (at some point maybe not now) of a supreme being.

No, I don't believe in any deity. I beleive that religion is a man-made construct originally meant to keep the plebs under control by inculcation of intimidatory superstition and historical prejudice.
I do believe that we live in a largely secular society - even a godless society. And in part, yes, that's responsible for the decline of social and moral responsibility. When you're involved in a religion, your moral framework is laid out for you. If you reject religion in favour of something frivilous like consumerism, hedonism etc you are unlikely to have a replacement moeral framework put in place.
In rejecting religion, the individual take on personal responsibilty for their own moral framework, and this is a responsibility that most godless people categorically fail to address.

I would have to agree, that while I dont subscribe to any religion, the moral, social and legal framework of the UK is constructed around the christian belief system.
I worship the sun, moon and Bishop's Tipple (Gibbs and Mew, not to be confused with Bishop's Finger).
I wonder at our universe and it's physical interactions and events.
Perhaps I'm a beer drinking pagan Vulcan. Fascinating.
Agree with Carzee that it's good to have some moral framework over none, but not all religions (Pagansim) impose such bindings.

I believe in a god, and I constantly offer sacrifices of gold to it, its big its green and it lives in my garage
. As for any other god no I do not believe in one, nor for the record do I believe in anything supernatural including ghosts, UFOs, astrology, crystal healing, walking under laders the number 13 , reincarnation, destiny etc etc. Am I the only person who does not believe in any of this stuff?
Religion is just a superstition in my view.

Like others hear I have seen no evidence to suggest either the existence of a god or whatever but that does not mean a god or gods don’t exists. So I would not say that I am an atheist eater.
While I done believe in any religions I do however think that at least the main ones I have heard about (admittedly with a little up dating) do suggest rules that make living with others easier.
I believe that we should all try to do the best we can both for our selves and others.

CarZee's comments and the Iain Banks quote in Bonce's profile have left me with very little to add other than that I strongly agree with them both.
I would add that I grew up in a Christian household and held fairly strong Christian beliefs until sometime in my 20's when I "saw the light". I guess that makes me a born-again atheist.
