Anyone tried Onspeed?
Discussion
Onspeed.com claim they can speed up your internet connection and make it 5 to 10 times faster.
Anyone on here got any experience of using it?

I wouldn't bother unless you were using a dial-up connection.
I haven't read the whole site however I gather it's a compression technology. For starters, do you really want an extra piece of software on your PC, potentially running in the background and slowing your PC down? There's no guarantees that the software will speed up the connection - not all data will be easily compressible so time is wasted on the server end compressing the data, and then time is wasted at your PC end decompressing the data [although it's interesting to see that they say that jpegs are compressible.....I wonder what ratios they get....] Plus, if their servers are under heavy load, the compression time will go up and this may negate any benefit that the compression might have had. Personally, I'd like to see what 'dedicated' and 'generic' algorithms they're using
I used to use something like this on my dial-up connection and it was definitely worth it, but for normal broadband, I personally don't think it's worth it...
