Testing is now on the Thursday before the race weekend
instead of the Friday when it should have been,
so we won't be doing that due to the extra days cost.
If it were on the Friday, then we would have to be there anyway, so the cost is minor and we don't lose an extra days work, (some of us work for a living,) but having it on a Thursday with the added cost of a full team for the day adds massively to the budget and we just can't afford that.
I do wonder sometimes if us smaller teams are taken into consideration when decisions like this are made, the big teams take it in their stride being well funded but it's teams like ours, with little chance of moving up to FIA GT budgets that will probably support BGT for many years to come, that end up being penalised.
We would love to have the extra track time, for we are still getting used to the car and need all the practice we can get, not only to improve our performance, which we most definitely need to do,
but also for experience and safety.
Anyway, rant over

Agreed, we're small in GT terms but there are plenty out there that are just one man bands and it costs us all a heap of money to go racing regardless of the series we run in, it's all relative to our individual means especially non sponsored . Any increase in race costs usually ends up with compromising the time on track, or bashing the budget, it's a shame those who organise don't remember or, for all I know, have little or no experience of racing or running a small team.
Never mind eh, life's a bitch but then there's racing

Rod,
Know, *exactly* what you mean, talk about unecessary costs...
Hi Mate,
Just having my usual dig at the establishment, don't want them to think that I've mellowed with age
Are you coming out to play at Donington? thought I saw Chris's name down for one of the new GT3's, probably miss read it, must find my glasses

I would imagine that the Thursday testing has more to do with the local noise Nazis than SRO. Could it be that the circuit is not permitted to run 3 noisy days in a row?
You prompted me to check with Donington and you are correct, they are not allowed to run three noisy days in a row so Friday is a bike test day. The Nazis win again as you suggested, but even so, the SRO could have informed us earlier instead of keeping quite about it until a week or so ago, for as it turns out, it wasn't their fault.
Maybe it is time for all race circuits to get together and form an anti Nazis co-operative and fight these people where ever they start a campaign. I'm sure fans and competitors alike would offer a £1 a ticket surcharge if we knew it was going into a well administered fighting fund otherwise these numptys are going to spoil things for all of us.
