Haynes is to hold a Le Mans TVR Day at its excellent motor museum -- and TVR Car Club members get a discount.

With the 24 Heures du Mans race just weeks away, this is an opportunity to see the 400bhp Racesport Peninsula TVR T400R in action. This car is one of two TVRs that finished the gruelling 24-hour race in 2004. It is now being driven by British drivers, John Hartshorne, Richard Stanton and Nigel Greensall in the 2006 Le Mans Series.

The Le Mans TVR Day at Haynes International Motor Museum is supported by nearby TVR and Lotus dealer Peninsula, a sponsor of the T400R racer. It will also provide a line-up of the latest TVR and Lotus models -- including the TVR Tuscan Convertible, TVR Sagaris, Lotus Exige S, Lotus Elise 1 and Lotus Elise 11R.

But this is not a static day. TVRs and Lotus models, including the awesome Racesport Penisula TVR T400R, will do several demonstration laps of the challenging Haynes test track. In addition, Haynes will be organising dream car rides in some of its fabulous museum cars – including a Lamborghini Countach, Dodge Viper, Jaguar V12 E-type and a Bentley Arnage.

With limitless opportunities to take photographs plus the chance to meet race driver, John Hartshorne, and members of the Racesport Peninsula team, the Le Mans TVR Day is not to be missed. Plus, there's the Haynes International Motor Museum – the UK's largest exhibition of the greatest cars from around the world. It offers an excellent day out for all the family, with more than 350 vehicles, dating from 1886 to the present day, displayed in stunning style.

The whole day costs no more than the usual Haynes International Motor Museum entrance fee. Price: £2.50 with a valid TVRCC membership car, otherwise £7.50, children £4.00, senior citizen & disabled £6.50.

I thought TVR weren't running in the 2006 LeMans series?

Is the Le Mans SERIES, necessarily the same as the Le Mans race?

The rules and class structures are the same as the 24Hr race, and indeed the American Le Mans Series. Class winners of the Series (plural) get guaranteed entries in the 24hrs, and normal entries for the 24hrs get looked on more favourably if you enter the whole series.
