Been there and done it (well I still am....)

I took my Cerbie home to my native Germany and gave here a real nice taste of the Autobahns (my pants lasted until about 160 mph) and I have the greatest ever...what a car- can´t even blame the handling here on proper roads (I think I have a standard setup) even better- so far no bits fell off and it is still working
I only put in lots of petroö and some oil--and this is the only little problem so far---I certainly did not overfill her (so far you can say with the flimsey ´dipstick) but twice on going off throttle at full go and around 150 I had serious oil smoke for each about 10 secs.- it was self terminating and oil presurre and the temp where fine afterwards and I had to go on another 120 miles or so (did not dare full wack but didi not go slow either) could not check oil afterwards as too warm but will do first thing 2 morrow- looks for me like just burning some excess oil or are there any other possibilities- edited to add it is a standard 98 4.2????
But really what a car they are ment to be driven on roads like this ( the temp gauge goes even down on high speeds--- what a that we have this 70mph limit in the UK (obviously in Germany are limits but only where they make sense - and that is goog the way it is....

Glad you had a great time in Germany!! I took mine over to France at Easter and it was tremendous!! I had the same thing as you (albeit briefly) at higher revs under hard acceleration, as I had slightly over-filled the oil. I'm still getting used to the famed 'Cerbera dipstick' again.
My car is back at 'Fernies' at present for some bits and pieces to be sorted, they were going to check this for me and let me know. I am happy to drop you an e-mail when they get back to me Today or Tomorrow?
Don't think it will be anything major to worry about, but if in doubt I'm sure Fernies would be happy to check it out for you!

Thanks for your reply...Yes the dipstick.... I gave Graham a call and he is also not too concerned but I will also have it there for a short recheck...
Glad you had a good time in France-- I will still be here in Germany next week so I cannot make it too Pistonfest, but I still think we should get a 'southern' CERBY day of the road at some stage...
