Over the past few weeks we've had a complete nightmare with our ADSL line in work and we've been offline pretty much 95% of the time for the past ten days. Ultimately the problem has been with BT but because of the OFCOM regulations we're not allowed to speak to them directly but have to go though our ISP - who have been absolutely useless in kicking BT's arse. So they're getting dumped but we need to switch to another supplier as ADSL is our only realistic option for connectivity.

Anyone got any recommendations? Must be business-oriented with impeccable service standards and capable of resolving this kind of problem very quickly - we cannot afford for this to happen again.

Also, we need a backup option in case there are problems with our primary connection. Again, anyone got any ideas on this - bear in mind we're only a small company so no hideously expensive mutiple-redundacy corporate solutions please!

Consider A&A. http://aa.nu

Not the cheapest by any means, not very big, but I doubt you will find a more clued up bunch of people in any ISP. Been with them over two years and the number of problems is vanishingly small.

They can do neat stuff like multiline bonding, ISDN fallback, IPv6 etc, as well as giving you as many IPs as you need (I have a /28 at home), letting you control the dns forward and reverse, not blocking or proxying any ports in either direction, so you can run servers if you wish, I serve http, ftp, smtp (I run my own primary MX) and ssh from my link.
