I have just posted the following on the CCCUK website. If anyone fancies a cheap day out, please let me know.

The FIA GT and GT3 Championships will hold the only UK rounds at Silverstone on the weekend of 6/7 May. The entry list (not yet released) should include Corvettes, Vipers, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Aston Martin ...........
(for more details see www.silverstone-circuit.co.uk/html/ra_supercarshowdown.php)

The provisional Sunday timetable is:
08.10 – 08.25 FIA GT Championship Warm Up
08.50 – 09.40 Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Race 2
10.05 – 10.55 Maserati Trofeo Race 1
11.45 – 12.45 FIA GT 3 European Championship Race 2
13.30 – 16.30 FIA GT Championship Race (98 Laps = 503,72 Km max 3 hours) 17.00 – 17.50 Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Coppa Shell Race 1

The CCCUK is organising a day out for CCCUK members for the Sunday 7 May.

CCCUK members will receive:
- Reserved Corvette display area on grass in a prime Centre-of-Event position
- Free entry to the Paddock
- Grandstand Seats
- Discounted ticket prices (per person):
o Weekend pass only £10 each (£35 on the day)
o Sunday pass only £7.50 each (£20 on the day)
o Saturday pass only £5 each (£15 on the day)
o Children (15 years and under) are FREE
The only caveat is that for each car, two tickets will need to be purchased for the same day i.e. £15 per car for either one or two occupants. We will be concentrating on the Sunday but if anyone prefers either Saturday or both days please let me know.

I am sorry for the short notice (for various reasons) but we do need to move quickly on this rather special offer which promises to be a good day out.

If you are interested please let me know asap but certainly before next Sunday
(30th April) as I will need to commit to a minimum number of cars and tickets. Once I have added you to the list then you will need to pay me for your tickets as they are not refundable. However we will get 4 free two day passes which will be awarded to the first four people "drawn from a hat"

We will be meeting at junction 10 of the M40/A43 Cherwell Valley services at 10.00 and will travel the remaining 14 miles to Silverstone together.

If anyone requires any further information please contact me by email or phone 01202-434729.

I hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you on the day.

Richard, I know its a bit early, but any chance of posting a list of who's down as going?
Just wondering how big the convoy is looking.

I rather not post the names publicly, but so far we have 16 vehicles:-

8 x C5
3 X C4
3 x to be advised
2 x bikes? = Gixer and Nutz??
1 x truck = eric the brave

I would guess that 10 of those will be in the Surrey convoy.

Plenty of room for anyone else - just let me know (£7.50 each for an International Meeting is unvbelievable value)

Any Corvettes coming up the M1 some of the Viper boys are meeting at Toddington Services which is just past Luton North at 8:30 on the Sunday would love to have some Vette's in the convoy.

I think there are long-running roadworks on the M1, hence we are going up the M40...

I can see why you would want Vettes to add a bit of quality to your convoy but alas none of the attendees are going your way.

What is it is it only Surrey and South that attend a Corvette event??

Still if they did show, no one would be looking at the Vett's , they would be too busy looking at the Vipers.

So if you want to join in............at the back

Viper Paul sounds like he is in denial about the fact that all will be looking at the new “King of the Hill” the Corvette Z06! You must be a “short” doctor with quite and ego to come on a corvette site and flame bait members about joining your silly snake caravan and the Corvettes would be at the back! And how can one call a snake club in the UK a club of America? This Yankee says foul play it should really be “The MOBENZ Snake Lovers Club of England”! Or would that be BENZPAR? I would think the Corvettes would always be in front since it is the only “TRUE ORIGINAL” sports car and now “SUPERCAR” of America! Vipers will always be remembered for the car that “LEE” built (at a great loss to his company) that inspired the GENERAL to a higher realm! Long live the second coming of the King of the Hill the Chevy Z06 Corvette! One last thing Paul, American Girls think the Corvette is the SEXY ride and that the Viper is ugly! Chicks dig Corvettes not snakes. You really need some therapy to come out of your denial about this whole matter Dr. Paul! I am sorry Gix I am sure he is your friend and a fine doctor but I just had to let him have it after all it was a painful decade here in America to have all the dodge boyz taunt us vette heads till the Z06 dethroned them. Now they have all gone away with the tail between their legs until Benz dreams up a way to counter attack! My guess is the Benzpar boyz are stuffing a SLR engine in a Viper! www.leftlanenews.com/2006/04/19/what-happens-when-you-put-an-slr-engine-in-an-e-class/#more-2407
