That looks like one of the cars I saw prepared for Pike's Peak in Colorado. It at least won its class if not the whole event, so it must do something besides provide a picnic table for the crew... They need all the traction they can get going up that hill...

Would have thought something that size is going to create a lot of drag.. Guess it must do the job else they wouldn't have put it on..

speeds are very low on hillclimb / sprint generally and low speed traction all important. looks great to me, but I'm more technician than beautician

But it looks very strange to see that great big slab of (presumably) intercooler stuck out in the air like that. And why is the wing so far forward? Traditionally they are stuck as far back as possible (subject to regs) because it is easier to get downforce at the front than the back. But maybe it runs to some funny regs.

Weight distribution...? If they put it any further back, it might fall over..!

Pike's Peak winning time in the last year listed on their website is 71+mph average... obviously less than that in the corners, but that speed is enough for a wing to help traction but not so high as to have the additional drag affect your top end.

Big wings help traction at the cost of topend, which I guess is why this car is being advertised as a hillclimber.
