First day back with the Griff

I've spent 16 months restoring my Griff, today was the first time I was able to drive it, and boy oh boy what a car

Even without being able to drive it at any pace (see clutch problem in other thread) it was an absolute joy. I am really looking forward to summer now, I had simply forgot what a brute they are.

The car felt great during my limited time (1.5miles), really tight and felt like new (Gaz dampers, poly bushes everywhere, SH droplinks, ball joints renewed) even with the new none bedded in tyres.

i think those wheels look superb,especially with that body colour,hence my confused post!!You must be one proud man for sure,i'm still in awe since you first posted about the resto.How are you finding the H404 then?

The engine feels very strong, but with the clutch playing up I haven't had chance to get on the throttle at all. At very low revs it is not strong like the standard cam but even during my limited journey to and from the MOT station I adjusted my driving style and I feel much more confident about keeping that cam in now.

The MOT guy had never seen anything as clean LOL, the whole workshop just stopped and the team came and inspected my car. Twas a proud moment for me

The Griff LOOKS the Dogs danglies,you must be really pleased.Just cleaning the chassis and waxoiling my rebuilt Griff after the winter lay up cant wait to get it MOTed and back on the road again.

That car looks Fan bloody tastic DH, and the Spiders really finish it off. Shame about the lutch but hopefully that will be sorted pretty quickly and you'll be terrorising Sleppy villages in no time.
