Has anyone else been to the F1 testing sessions, taking place at Silverstone between Tuesday and today?

We went on Tuesday. It rained when we got there and the morning was somewhat chilly... But it was good to see the cars out and about. There was plenty of on-track activity, in any case.

I took quite a lot (!) of photos - here are a few.

Hope you like the pics.

I went down with work as a perk. We do some consultancy work for MF1 - formally Jordan. After a factory tour we stood in the pits just outside the garages, and saw the cars coming out of the garages and having their trial pit stops. Really enjoyable day. The level of engineering on them is awesome.

From what I gather it is free to get in and spectate, anyone confirm this?

I think the dates are sort of announced informally and you find out about them by word of mouth, kind of thing. There might even be announcements in the Gassing Station?

It's free to get in - that's the best bit. If you haven't been invited by a company, you can still get tickets at the gate, but I think they restrict numbers. (That said, though, every time we've been we've had no trouble getting in, and there's loads of parking.) You don't have access to the entire circuit, just along the pit straight and up as far as Farm. But that's plenty, really - there aren't crowds of people like on F1 weekend, so there's more than enough space to sit down, wander round, etc. There are a couple of death burger vans about the place, and stalls selling F1 merchandise if you want to take souvenirs home.
