Hi from another new(ish) owner
Discussion
Hi guys
Been meaning to drop by and say hello for a while. Had my 3R for a month now and am enjoying it hugely. I still can’t quite believe how fast these cars are, and the handling is every bit as good as my Elise.
Anyway I have a few questions:
1) the remote central door locking does not work on the passenger side. I intend looking at this myself, what should I check for? In the mean time is there anyway of locking this door without the remote?
2) more a curiosity than anything else but my car doesn’t have an aerial on the roof, yet the standard fit Sony CDX-M630 radio reception is fine. Where might the aerial be?
3) I need a couple of rear tyres soon and want to stick with the standard Bridgestone S-O3s. Anyone know of a good place to buy them from in the South East?
4) does anyone have a luggage set they would be willing to sell? My car has the luggage straps, but previous owner must have held onto the luggage.
That’s all for the moment. I hope to meet some of you soon, maybe on the next Noble Owners track day.
Cheers
James

Do I recognise your name off of the photog and vid bit on here?
Good choice of car!
I have a luggadge set, the cloth one. I only ever seem to use one of the big bags (of 2) and 2 of the small bags (of 4) so could flog you 2 small and one big. Only problem then is what to do with the mrs' kit if we ever actually go away in it together.
Keep an eye out as they do come up sometimes. Or just buy a new set. (if you're a millionaire! $$

I've been lurking on here for a while, but my main hideout is usually on SELOC
Previous owner of my 3R was a very friendly guy called Ken who sometimes posts on here and now has an M400, but I bought the car through a dealer as he part-exchanged up.
I did quite a few trackdays in my Elise, and my 3R has the trackday sump fitted so I'm looking forward to finding out how it performs on track.

This is a common problem - there is no way to lock the door manually without taking the door apart - I will not go into detail here but if you take the door panel off it will be fairly obvious what you need to adjust - it is a very fine adjustment too. Other than the screws around the door panel you will need to take the speaker out and reach inside the door panel to unscrew three wingnuts. Joust has a description of how to do this - not sure where the link to hios site is though.

James,
Is your car silver, I see one on Ewell bridge the other week and nearly flashed but then I realised I was in my work horse (Primera). I'm often back in Chessington most weekends to see my mates, so I might see ya around.
I have been doing a lot of searching regarding tyres and the best I have found for the SO3's is £240 front (fitted) and £340 rears (fitted) this is in Southampton. There is also a place near basinstoke that is the same price.

Mine is Titanium, but I've also seen another Titanium car with afterburner rear lights (mine has original rear lights) driving around. Saw it last Sunday in fact going past the David Lloyd in Epsom in the rain. Initially I thought someone had nicked my car! Could that have been you?
Been looking for some rear tyres this afternoon and £160 each is the best I have been able to find, so £340 fitted sounds about right.
Cheers

180-190 for a set of SO3's rears or fronts?
James,
Mine is also Titanium but a 2.5L. I don't have the after burners (yet). I'm normaly around the Ewell area as most of my mates live there. (borne hall).

I think the difference here is that Bondy is talking about the price for a set of tyres (i.e. two) rather than per tyre.
£160-£180 is what I am being quoted for a single rear S0-3 (unfitted).
I have another question. There is some sort of clip thingamy on the side of the console/dash on the drivers side near where my left knee is. I thought it was some sort of mobile phone holder, but I've seen a few cars (if not all cars?) with these clips. What is it for? If my description is no good, I'll take a photo later.
