Was pondering new wheels to coincide with tyre replacement, but have now decided to have the originals re-furbed. Not sure whether to stick with the standard silver finish or perhaps black, anthracite, who knows? What does the jury think?

Hi Jason,
I am going to Blackpool tommorrow to have a set of standard referbed wheels fitted.
I found the guy on the piston head Chimaera pages, he's called pxwheels.
I think he can deliver a set of wheels and collect yours for £200 ish, but I'm going up to see him.(good excuse for a quick blast up the M61 M6, I live in New Mills just outside Stockport)
I will let you know how I get on.
Cheers,
Paul.

Your car is green I take it. I had the wheel & brake upgrade with silver wheels. TVR offered to include a second set of wheels free so I opted for anthracite for the spare set. My car is green and I have had the anthracites on but I soon changed them for the silver set. Anthracite looked awful against the green bodywork.

Pristine Wheels in Milton Keynes (well, Woburn Sands, really) can refinish wheels any colour you like. Take the car in and get them to match the colour...

(And have a look at the vile "harlequin" Sierra Cosworth multispokes they have in the office. Apparently, they've actually *sold* some!)

I reckon tvrbob is right. Stick with silver on a road car. Carlos Fandango options like black and anthracite look great on race ready machines but maybe that ties in with multi-coloured paintwork and lift off bonnets...

gf350, your car looks stunning with the black wheels.

Are they 17 inch front and rear. What widths and offsets did you go for?

Hey guys, cheers for the feedback. Anthracite or black seem to look good on bigger diameter wheels or on yellow, red, black, silver cars. Cooper green plus standard wheels = silver IMHO.

Unsure about refurb source, certainly Pristine Wheels in Milton Keynes is close by, has anyone any experience of the mobile services that do it out the back of a van at your house?

Hi Jason, the trip to pxwheels at Blackpool was worth it.
A top bloke. Boiling hot weather for the drive across from
New Mills in Derbyshire. (roof down of course)

Arrived at 10:30 and was given a brew while I waited. He's dead easy to find at the
end of the M55 turn right at roundabout and he's on the left.

We decided that one of the wheels was in perfect condition so this was not changed.
The others were all swapped for referbed units, top quality items too.
He even cleaned the wheels and tyres once fitted to get rid of the tyre lubricant.
All in all I was impressed with quality of service and the referbed wheels.
On his web site he says will also deliver new wheels and take your old ones away
as exchange units, if you cannot travel.
Hope this is of some use.
Cheers Paul.
BTW I have no connection with his company. Just chuffed with the sevice.

Paul, pxwheels sounds promising. I can't find him on the members directory, do you have an email address or website?

I've been considering a gold refurb on the origonal wheels?

Me thinks it would look excellent with my Starmist green Chim.

Seen that combination (dark green and gold rims)on a few cars (not TVRs though).

Looks good!

Oh... And ma Mum says I've good taste,... so I must be right!
